Profile

His Honour Humphrey Lloyd QC has been conducting courses at Queen Mary on International Construction Contracts and Arbitration since 1986 and is a Visiting Professorial Fellow of the College. He was a judge of the Technology and Construction Court of the High Court of Justice from 1993-2005 and has now returned to practice as an arbitrator in international and domestic commercial disputes. He has been Editor-in-Chief of The International Construction Law Review since 1994 and lectures widely on dispute resolution topics.

As a member of the International Arbitration Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce since 1980, he has been on many of its working groups and was the co-author of its 2001 Report on Construction Industry Arbitration and of the 2006 Report on Drafting Awards. He is also Chairman of the Review Body of the UK CIMAR Arbitration Rules. He is a Visiting Professor in Construction Law and Arbitration at Leeds Metropolitan University. He was a founding member of the UK Society of Construction Law and its President 1985-1988. In 2004 he was its President's Medal in 2004. He is a member of the European Society of Construction Law and an Honorary Fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers and of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers.
