Andrea Carlevaris, Secretary General of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, Paris, presented the January 2015 Opening Lecture for Queen Mary University of London's LLM in Paris programme.

His lecture 'The Application of the Law by Arbitrators' was followed by a roundtable discussion with Christophe von Krause of White & Case LLP, Paris, and Antonio Musella of Castaldi Mourre & Partners, Paris, moderated by Dr Maxi Scherer, Director of the LLM in Paris programme at Queen Mary.

The event, hosted by the ICC International Court of Arbitration, and co-sponsored by White & Case LLP, Paris, and Castaldi Mourre & Partners, Paris, was attended by over 130 participants from law firms, companies and academia, as well as Paris LLM students.

Iurii Sidorenko joined the LLM in Paris programme in January. He said:

"It was a great honour to be present at the Opening Lecture by Andrea Carlevaris at the ICC, which turned out to be a conference with panelists, arbitrators and other practising lawyers taking part in lively discussions. I would like to thank QMUL and especially Dr Maxi Scherer for a wonderful event and a warm welcome."
