International shipping company, Andros Maritime Agencies, is to run three internships for LLM students at Queen Mary University of London.

Students studying for an LLM in International Shipping Law or LLM in Insurance Law will be able to apply for the internship programme, which starts in 2014.

Andros Maritime Agencies is one of the oldest and largest international shipping companies. The internship programme is designed to give students a unique opportunity to gain valuable practical experience in all areas of shipping law and trade, marine insurance as well as in all aspects of the day-to-day running and operation of such a company. The interns will gain an insight of a vibrant and fast-moving work environment within a global shipping community and apply legal concepts studied during their LLM in actual scenarios.

Captain Aristotelis Gianniou, Operations and Marine Manager, Andros Maritime Agencies, London, said:

“We envisage that the programme will equip any student wishing to pursue a career within the shipping world with sufficient basic knowledge of the functions and workings of all aspects of shipping and international trade within the context of an international maritime company."
